March 9, 2016 by Stephen Narwold

Creating a Google Account and pasting the Google Analytics ID into the right place in your NTM Blog dashboard will enable you to start seeing how many visitors are coming to your blog and what they are doing there.

To create a Google Analytics account: (See video instructions here: https://youtu.be/uyrKu-yb05c)

1. Go to Google Analytics: http://www.google.com/analytics/

2. If you have a Google account, and are not signed in, click Sign in. If you do not have a Google account, click Create an account.

3. Once you have signed in to your Google account, click Access Google Analytics.

4. Click Sign up.

5. Fill in

Your Account Name (Your Name)

Website Name: (Our NTM Blog)

Website URL: (Your NTM Blog address http://blogs.ntm.org/firstname-lastname)

Select an Industry Category (optional)

Reporting Time Zone ((optional)

6. Under Data Sharing Options, check the boxes next to the options that you want.

7. Click Get Tracking ID.

8. From the Google Analytics Terms of Service Agreement that opens, click I Accept.

9. Copy the Tracking ID to your clipboard. Your Google Analytics ID will look something like this: “UA-396xxx-x”

10. Paste the Analytics ID into the “Google Analytics ID” field near the bottom of the All in One SEO >> General Settings. You will find “All in One SEO” on the left menu of your blog dashboard near the bottom.

11. Make sure you click “Update Options >>” after you have added your Google Analytics ID to save your changes.

Your tracking code will automatically be added to every page and post of your blog and you should start seeing visitor activity results in your Google Analytics account within a couple days. To see activity on your blog, you will need to login to your Google Analytics account: http://www.google.com/analytics/
