The default subscription form collects the email addresses of subscribers and notifies them when your blog is updated. You are not required to make any changes for the notifications to be sent.
You can only view the form as a visitor would see it when you are logged out of your blog admin. When you are logged into your myMinistry blog you will see the message, “You may manage your subscription options from your profile” on your Subscribe page.
“How often blog updates are sent to subscribers and what the emails say are determined by your Subscibe2 options under the “Settings” menu.
Your notification frequency is set to “Once Daily” at 12:00 am by default. If you set your notifications to “For each Post” you have to be especially careful about hitting the “Publish” button. A separate email will be sent for each time you hit that button. Less frequently, like “Once Daily” would be recommended.
The difference between “confirmed” and “registered” subscribers is whether or not the subscriber has responded to a confirmation email. If you enter the addresses yourself the subscriber should be automatically confirmed. If a visitor signs up online they will have to respond to an email confirmation before they are confirmed.
You can send a simple email message directly to your subscribers by using “Mail Subscribers” under the Posts menu.
If you want site visitors to be able to subscribe to an external email list like MailChimp, you will need to add a sign-up form in the sidebar or on the subcribe page. If you use MailChimp, you can do this using the MailChimp widget. If you use another email list service you may need to paste the sign-up form embed code in a Text widget.
