What do I do if a post contains a blocked word?

September 3, 2009 by Stephen Narwold

Normally you would edit the post so the blocked word, or spirit of the blocked word, is not contained in the post.  However, there are times when the context of the blocked word would not be a problem.

The new content filter for WordPress does not have the ability to override blocked words like the old one. You could forward the content violation email to blog_support@ntm.org and request that the content manager add an exception phrase to allow a word to slip through the filter.

The content manager would have to consider if an exception phrase would also pass information that shouldn’t be published. In that case, rewording the phrase to avoid a problematic word might be the best option.
